Practical Uses of Malas for Meditation and More with Teresa Middleton

Malas, or prayer beads, have been significant in various religious traditions from Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, to modern day yogis. Mala beads have been used by spiritual seekers to help keep their minds focused during meditation.

Today, it has become fashionable to wear malas – in the form of bracelets and necklace – especially for yogis. Traditionally used as a meditation tool, there’s a lot more to malas than looking cool.

My guest today, Teresa Middleton – a yoga teacher and custom mala designer – explains the special significance that comes with specific stones to channel different energies. Traditional malas contain 108 beads and Teresa has made it her passion and signature to use incredible stones to customize style, color, and energetic properties…making them quite fashionable and sacred at the same time.

When combined with mantras {a repeated chant or sound to aid concentration} during meditation, mala beads are a powerful combination to balance your chakras and focus your awareness. In the end, you can enhance your meditation beyond belief by channeling more powerful energies.

Teresa is the owner of Middle Moon Malas, an Indiana-based mala company that specializes in thoughtful and personalized designs. She enjoys helping fellow students and yoga practitioners to reconnect with themselves through this beautiful craftsmanship.

Be sure to join me in the Wild Wisdom Collective, my FREE Facebook Group, as we’ll share a video on how to use a mala for mantra meditation and Teresa is giving away an incredible wrist mala {exclusive to group members!}.
