Balancing Foods for Fall

Since I came to the realization that my lung qi is imbalanced this fall, I have concentrated on ensuring that I am drinking more warm drinks and eating warming foods. So, I thought I’d share some of my favorite recipes right now.

When lung qi and its counterpart, the large intestine meridian, are imbalanced, skin can feel dry, you’re more susceptible to colds and coughs as well as constipation. Oh, and wrinkles! Oh no!

The lung meridian forms and distributes qi {i.e., our vital life force energy} throughout the body and when it is deficient, we can feel miserable. We may even experience more bouts of crying due to grief that hasn’t been fully expressed. This has certainly been my case lately and I can’t just blame it on hormones.

So, lately, I have been drinking my lactation tea daily as well as chai and my favorite Qi Balancing Latte. I have even added a Collagen Booster from Anima Mundi Herbals, but half the dose since I am breastfeeding. And I mix Moringa into soups, sauces and dressings for added nutrition and to boost my milk supply.

Here are some of my favorite warming recipes for autumn from my favorite websites, health coaches and more:

Poached Eggs Over Braised Vegetables

Warm Kale Salad

Butternut Squash Soup

Baked Pears

Persimmon Pear Delight

Hot Ginger Cinnamon Tea with Pine Nuts

I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as I do!
