About Alyssa


alyssa pfennig, certified yoga therapist (c-iayt)

Alyssa is passionate about sharing the therapeutic wisdom of yoga, nature and horses to help women nourish their path to connection with themselves and their own wild, feminine wisdom. She has practiced yoga for over 15 years and was inspired to become a teacher after sharing the practice with her young niece.

Drawn to the therapeutic use of yoga practices that helped her with an injured shoulder and manage work stress, she spent three years immersed in the study of therapeutic yoga through the Yoga on High Teacher Training Institute in Columbus, Ohio. She has trained in using yoga practices such as asana, pranayama and meditation, to help with structural, mental and emotional issues and will help you make every pose accessible and comfortable in a group class or design a personal yoga program specific to your needs.

For three years, Alyssa assisted in research studies on using yoga to manage chronic pain and PTSD with veterans in conjunction with the VA Medical Center and has also worked one-on-one with patients in a specialized clinic at Eskenazi Health. She works with women on a daily basis to get to the root of their chronic pain and reconnect to their wild hearts.

She is an E-RYT 200/RYT 500 with the Yoga Alliance and a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She is also certified in enzyme nutrition with the Food Enzyme Institute and certified in Thai Yoga Massage.
